The Le Bandit Raccoon and What the Slot Symbols Pay

In short: Smokey Le Bandit is the raccoon on the right of the screen, and he is scenery rather than a paying symbol. Top of the table is the top hat, worth 100x the bet for a cluster of thirteen.

The raccoon everyone searches for does not actually pay anything. He stands beside the grid with a crowbar while a top hat quietly carries the paytable.

Smokey Le Bandit

The raccoon mascot of the game, written up by the maker as a charmer who would happily rob you. He animates beside the reels, crowbar in hand, and is not one of the symbols in the paytable.

Game:
Le Bandit (a Hacksaw Gaming video slot)
Type:
Slot game
RTP as published:
The maker publishes four return configurations for this game - 96.34%, 94.23%, 92.17% and 88.36% - and which one a player meets is the casino's choice, not the player's.
Max win:
10,000 times the bet, and for once the maker says so itself: the figure is printed on Hacksaw Gaming's own game page, on the game's splash screen as "Win up to 10 000 times your bet!", inside the client's GAME INFO, and returned by the game server as maximumWinMultiplier.

The Le Bandit Raccoon's Actual Job

The raccoon's job is decoration. Smokey Le Bandit stands to the right of the grid, leaning on a crowbar, and reacts to wins. He is not in the paytable. The maker gives him a paragraph of character writing that opens "Meet Smokey Le Bandit, a charming racoon who won't hesitate to fleece you for all you're worth by using every trick in the book and then some!", which is more than most slots bother with, and none of it affects a payout.

Ten Symbols, Four Tiers, One Top Hat

Ten symbols sit in four tiers, and the top hat stands alone at the top. We read the full table off the client's own screen, with the stake set to 1.00, on . The five card ranks, 10 through Ace, all pay exactly the same, which is unusual and makes the low tier simpler than it looks. Then the mousetrap and the cheese. Then the beer mug and the baguettes. The top hat sits alone at the top.

Figures current as of ; the operator's live terms prevail.

The top hat is the only symbol that reaches 100x the bet, and it needs thirteen of them.

A Gold coin revealed on an activated Golden Square can be worth 500x the bet, which beats the top hat's biggest cluster five times over. Silver coins run 5x to 20x, Bronze 0.2x to 4x.

So the paytable describes the floor of this game, not its ceiling. The symbols keep a session alive; the coins are where 10,000x could ever come from.

That is the honest complaint about this symbol set, and it is worth saying plainly. Five of the ten paying symbols are identical in value, so half the symbol set is interchangeable wallpaper, and the best cluster the top symbol can produce is beaten five times over by one Gold coin. A player who enjoys reading a paytable and planning around it will find little to work with here: the base game is a delivery mechanism for Golden Squares, and the squares are where the maths actually lives. We would not recommend this game to anyone who wants symbol play to matter.

Cluster size, not reel position, decides the payout. The brackets are 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 to 10, 11 to 12, and 13 or more, and the jump between brackets is steep: the top hat goes from 3.00 at eight symbols to 10.00 at nine.

One caveat about the figures on screen, and it is the easiest way to be misled here. They are shown in money at the bet you have selected, so the same table reads differently at 0.10 and at 100.00, and a figure copied from a screenshot without its stake is worth nothing. We would not quote any paytable number without naming the bet it was read at. The game server holds the same values as coins, where one bet equals ten coins, which is why a catalogue quoting "150" and a screen showing "15.00" can both be right.

What Else Do Readers Ask?

Most questions here are about the mascot and the top symbol, and both answers come from the paytable screen we captured.

Does the raccoon pay in Le Bandit

No, Smokey Le Bandit is the mascot beside the reels and does not appear in the paytable as a paying symbol.

What is the highest paying symbol

The top hat. Thirteen of them or more return 100x the stake, printed as 100.00 when the stake is set to 1.00.

Do the card symbols pay differently

No, all five card ranks pay identical amounts at every cluster size, from 0.10 at five to 15.00 at thirteen.

What is the wild in Le Bandit

The wild substitutes for all symbols in the paytable, according to the client's own rules screen.

Why do coins pay more than symbols

A Gold coin reaches 500x the bet while the best symbol cluster pays 100x, so the coin tiers carry the game's upside.

What is the minimum cluster

Five matching symbols touching edge to edge anywhere on the grid, after which the symbols vanish and new ones drop in.
